A vanilla shake. Get it? Shake it up… |
I know that Fridays are generally when I have the more “fun” posts, but on this Monday, I feel like shaking it up.
So I’m gonna.
So, here’s the deal. Last week, my friend Jessica R. Patch participated in a virtual game of tag where she answered 11 questions and told some random stuff about herself. (Check out Jessica’s blog here.)
Jessica asked her readers to answer 11 questions on their blogs. I’m not totally following the rules, because I’m not continuing the tag, but I figured you guys could get over my lack of rule following and love me anyway.
So, without further ado…my answers to some fun questions.
Chocolate or vanilla and why?
Sigh, I know my mom would disown me if she heard this, but vanilla. Hello, my name is Lindsay, and I’m a vanilla girl! But that doesn’t mean I’m boring! You can just mix so many things in with vanilla (Oreos…gummy bears…yes, I love Cold Stone), and vanilla goes well on top of various desserts (pile on the calories, baby!).
And I just like it, OK? Why do I have to justify myself, Jessica? Why?
Have you ever shoplifted? Ever thought about it?
Heck no, are you kidding? I’ve always been an extreme rule follower…until now, with this tagging game. Ha.
Colored polish or French manicure?
While I admit that I love hot pink polish, I always opt for the French tips. Probably because I rarely get my nails done (and never do my own), and when I do, it’s usually for a special occasion.
On a side note, one of my friends is really freaked out by French pedicures. I don’t know why, but they creep her out. *shrugs shoulders*
Where’s the last place on earth you’d want to visit and why?
Uh, Alaska in the winter, I guess? (Even though my aunt and uncle are there…they’d be the only reason I’d go in winter! But four hours of daylight…really?! And you know this desert girl would be shaking in my probably-not-warm-enough boots.)
What’s your least favorite food?
Seafood!! Blah…Good thing I live in Arizona and not Florida or Maine or something where seafood is, like, a staple.
How many licks do you think it really does take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?
107.5 licks. That half-lick (0.5) is extremely crucial.
Hotels or camping?
The older I get, the more I say hotels! But we’ve had lots of fun memories camping. When my husband was in law school, sometimes camping was the only vacation we could afford. Though I have to say, it’s the worst thing in the world when you wake up in the middle of the night, it’s raining…and you have to pee. Like, now. No amount of talking yourself into going back to sleep helps because you just keep hearing the pitter patter on the tent wall…ugh. Makes me shudder just thinking about it!
Which celebrity that is alive (there is no Jesus loop-hole here, people) would you like to meet and why?
I always wanted to sing a duet with Josh Groban…
Do you have a smart phone? Can you live without it? Be honest…okay you can. Would you want to? Be honest.
Yes. No. I would die a slow, cruel death without my daily Internet feed. Seriously. I’m not joking here. Not. Even. Joking.
If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?
A bird so I could fly…or a horse so I could gallop.
Home-cooked or 5-star meal?
Home cooked all the way. I mean, I like going out to nice restaurants, but don’t 5-star meals usually involve eating something…unusual? Let’s just say I don’t have very sophisticated taste buds…
Your Turn: Which celebrity that is alive (there is no Jesus loop-hole here, people) would you like to meet and why?
*On Wednesday, I’ll be continuing my Names of God series, talking about Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord Who Provides. I’d love for you to chime in.

My husband tried to convinced me to honeymoon in Alaska b/c we were out in Seattle at the time and it would be close. I didn't go for it.
I rarely do my nails. Always fixing, painting or doing something to ruin the pretty.
~ Wendy
Same here, Wendy! I HATE it when the nail polish chips.
Hehehe, hilarious that we both answered these questions AND that we both asked guests the same question at the end. So, you already know my answer…Chris Hemsworth. I may have slightly swooned when I watched Thor last night. And I'm generally not an action movie girl. But, um, the dude won me over.
Great minds, Mel. Great minds. 😉
Love your animal choices. I think I would pick the same ones 🙂 I was raised by chocoholics so its been in my bloodstream since birth. I married a vanilla man and it's taken me years to wrap my brain around this concept, LOL. All I have to do is get him a bag of Lindor white truffles and he's a lost man 😉
I was raised by a chocoholic too…not sure how I ended up vanilla! 😛
Vanilla over chocolate??!! Why do you hate America so much, Lindsay? 😉
Favorite celebrity…I just might say Johnny Depp so I can slap him for making Pirates 3 and demand my money back!
Seriously, I'd like to meet Sarah Palin and give her a hug for enduring all that she has over the last four years.
LOL, that's funny about Johnny Depp!
I just answered this over at Melissa Tagg's post … but I'm going to do a different answer here! I would like to meet … hhhmmm … Princess Katherine. And then I'd ask her all sorts of questions … and maybe use the insider info to write a novel.
🙂
She is sooo sophisticated, isn't she? And that would make a GREAT novel. 🙂
I never said you had to justify anything…it's the guilt eating you for loving vanilla over chocolate. I'm sure of it! LOL
I'm not picking one b/c these celebs go together. I'm breaking the rules but then I HAVE explored the option of shop-lifting.
Joss Wheadon, Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec. Head writers for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream movies, Vampire Diaries (and other stuff). They can write like nobody's business and I'd love to glean from them!
Hmmm, maybe I just feel peer pressured into liking chocolate!
And I haven't ever really watched any of those shows, but it sounds right up your alley! 🙂
Lindsay,
Besides the book goal, we have another common item on our bucket list, PEI. Hubby tried to get us there for the honeymoon but it just didn't workout. I have a 7-year-old redhead daughter now so it would be even more fun 🙂
Wanted to let you know I'm praying for you and your writing today. Thanks so much for sharing on the Writer's Alley so I can.
Oh my goodness, that's awesome! Do you call her Carrots? 😛
And thank you sooo much for your prayers! I'm feeling them.
