Here’s the second vlog I taped on my trip. Here I am in St.
Lucia. It was so beautiful there; it was probably one of my favorite places on
the whole trip. I would consider going back here for a whole week (they have
three Sandals resorts. Yes, three.). It’s exquisite.

So I realized my video skills need work; when I talked to my
friends in the water, I totally missed them for the most part. They did wave
and call back to me, but it’s off camera. Ha.

But at least in this video you aren’t subjected to the
brilliant whiteness of my skin. You’re welcome. 😉

Friday I’ll be posting pictures of my trip with fun
captions. Yay! Thanks for journeying to the Caribbean with me this week. I
truly wish I could have taken you all along with me, but this is the next best
thing!

Question for You
(since I couldn’t think of one when on the boat!): Have you ever been on a
catamaran? Or any boat for that matter? Did you like the experience or do you
get sea sick?

What fun these vlogs are– it's like a virtual vacation! Thanks for sharing your tropics. 🙂
Thanks for watching! I know I babble sometimes…at least the scenery makes up for that, right? 😉
So fun! It looks beautiful, Lindsay! Thanks for sharing!
It was beautiful, Heidi. It was hard to come back to the desert that is Phoenix. 😛
Love it. I'm just going to pretend I'm there today instead of at work. 🙂
Ooo, good idea! I'll join you.
Oh man, to be there now!
LOVE being on boats. Yes, I've been on a catamaran (cool word, huh) and I wouldn't mind being on one right now.
~ Wendy
I know! We did both a catamaran and a sailboat. Such different speeds and rhythms, but I loved them both.
Love it, Linds! Love it!
I've been on a ferry crossing the English Channel. Does that count? Okay, and I've been on little boats–fishing boats and smaller motor boats. But no cruises. I see a must-do in my future… 🙂
Totally counts! Hmmm…maybe one of our meet ups should be on a cruise ship. Thoughts? 😛
Yes, I've been on many boats. Fishing boats, speed boats, pontoons, sight seeing boats on Lake Superior, a handful of cruise ships – I was even on a replica of the Mayflower in Plymouth, Mass! I love boats, but I haven't been on a catamaran!
Lovely post! So happy you had a chance to go. 🙂
Wow, you've definitely had lots of boat experience! I love the rhythm of a catamaran, especially when we really get going and the water sprays a bit in your face. Ahhh. I hope you get to go to the Caribbean this winter like you want!
LOL on the "brilliant whiteness of your skin". Great line! I'm fine on boats…as long as it's not too rough, or yes, I get seasick. So glad you enjoyed your vacation!
Glad my paleness is funny. 😉
I'm so glad I don't get seasick. That would be no fun. 🙁
RRRRRRRR, I grew up on the sea! I could sail until I was blue , but not green, in the face. I LOVED being out on the ocean. Now I'm land locked and yeah, well, bummer.
Our camp had several catamarans, known as "Hobie cats" for 1 or 2 people. Only the most experienced sailors were allowed near them because to sail them properly and not flip them took incredible skill. Whenever a certain guy took a Hobie cat out, we'd gather and watch. When he'd get the sail just right and raise the cat, we'd all yell "he's up!". We'd watch pure poetry in motion as he sailed that thing with the mast parallel to the sea.
Amazing.
That's so neat, Jennifer! I can't even imagine how cool that must have been to see.
You crack me up. You know you didn't get in the water due to your gigantic fear of sharks…or one in particular! As if I'll believe you "forgot" your suit! I love watching these little clips! So glad you thought to do them. You're adorable!
Alright, you got me!! I didn't want to get my leg bitten off. But my friends or husband…meh, that's fine. Go for it. Snack time! 😛
By the way, the guys on the boats selling mangoes and stuff encouraged me to, ahem, go in the water despite my lack of suit. I politely declined.
We go boating on Lake Michigan. My bff has a cabin cruiser. It's awesome. I have been on a catamaran in Florida, in the Gulf, when we were at Sanibel Island.
That sounds beautiful, Loree! I've never heard of Sanibel Island, but my uncle and aunt live in Tampa, so maybe I should have!
How cool to see the v-logs! What a fun trip! I love sailing, but haven't done it since I was a teen. This year we took my kids on grandpa's motorboat for the first time so that was a blast.
I'll bet they loved it, Julia!
I agree with Amanda, thanks for the virtual vacation, Lindsay! What a beautiful place, indeed. I've been on cruise ships and smaller personal boats, but never a catamaran. I'm so impressed by the skills of catamaran-ers. 🙂 I love being in the water, but have never been seasick thank goodness!
That's great you've never been seasick. From what I've heard, it's no fun AT ALL!
Never been on a catamaran. As for other boats, I went deep sea fishing and hated it. I was too sick to lift my head off the table. I've also been on two cruise ships. The first experience I liked it, the second I could feel the ocean and was semi-naseous the whole time. I don't think I'm a sea girl. The vlog is great and the island is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Aw, that's a bummer!! I'm not sure I'd like deep sea fishing. Might be too far out for my taste. We just mostly stuck to right along the coast. I felt the rocking on the cruise ship, but our cabin was in the middle where the rocking was a lot less.
But that's OK. You can always just fly to an island and stay put, and still be able to enjoy the beauty of the place!
The video didn't work for me for some reason, but I'm sure you had a fabulous time! I'm unfortunately not much of a boat person. Had one too many bad experiences on cruise ships, so I prefer my vacations on terra firma. 😉
Aw, bummer, Sarah…both that you could access my AMAZING video (ha) and that you have had some bad experiences. But that's ok. There are a lot of great vacations that do not require boats. 🙂
