I can’t believe Christmas is so near!
I still feel like I’ve got lots to do, including finishing my Christmas shopping and wrapping presents. Oh, and baking some yummy banana bread. This year I might even throw some chocolate chips into the mix.
I’m taking the week of Christmas off of work and I cannot wait to lay around watching movies and reading. It’s going to be glorious! We’ve also got some plans to hang out with friends and family.
I think it’s so good for us to take off time to relax at the end of the year. There’s something rejuvenating about taking a break between the end of one year and the beginning of the next. It’s like it helps me to gear up for the next year.
And I think 2013 is gonna rock!
So, with that being said, I’ll be taking a blogging break until Wednesday, January 2. I hope you have an amazing Christmas and New Year with your family and friends.
Your Turn: Any fun plans this holiday season? Do you like banana bread? If so, what’s your take: chocolate chips or not?
Hope you oh-so-enjoy your break, Lindsay! I'm okay with chocolate chips in banana bread, but usually I'm more inclined to throw in some walnuts. Don't get me wrong–I love chocolate chips. But I guess I'm a little more plain jane with my banana bread. Haha!
Christmas plans! Get some revisions done, but also spend plenty of time with family. We have a big four-day extended family gathering starting on Saturday. And then the following week, my immediate family is heading to Wichita for a few days. Can't wait!!
Have a great break, Lindsay! 🙂 And Merry Christmas!
I would definitely add chocolate chips. Why not?! lol
I plan to spend time with family and friends and finish my WIP's final edit. 🙂 ttyl

Um, is that really a legitimate question? In my opinion, chocolate chips are even more important than the bananas in the banana bread. 🙂
Lots and lots of Christmas plans here in Minnesota. This week we have cookie making night on Thursday, followed by delivering it to neighbors. On Saturday we're having a Christmas Tea Party for the granddaughters at my mom's and my sister will be home from Colorado! We do a "Silent Night" meal with just Dave and the kids and I. We turn off all the lights, but the Christmas Tree, and we eat a meal by candlelight. It's so much fun to do before the rush of Christmas begins. My hubby and oldest daughter are singing on Christmas Eve at our church, too. 🙂
Happy blogging break!! 2013 IS going to rock. 🙂
Merry Christmas, Lindsay!
GF banana bread for me — with chocolate chips.
And on Christmas Eve, we will be celebrating my daughter's birthday!
Merry Christmas, Lindsay!
Merry Christmas!
I'm taking Dec 19-31 off and then my blogging schedule is changing for the upcoming year. I want to focus more on writing so I'm only posting 1 day/week on my blog instead of 2.
God bless and have a wonderful break.
I'm also taking a break! I'm excited to do whatever the heck I want for a week. It'll be awesome.
I'm not against chocolate chips in banana bread, but the do minimize the banana-ness. So the real question is, how much banana do you want to taste?!
I'm with Melissa – banana bread purist here!
I always feel sorry for you guys in the USA talking about managing to take a week off – here in New Zealand everything pretty much shuts down for at least two weeks, and lots of professionals firms (lawyers, accountants etc.) close for three so their staff get a decent break 🙂
We even have legislation that mandates that 25 December – 15 January aren't counted as "working days" in terms of meeting statutory deadlines for things.
So this year I am taking a "short" break of only two weeks to spend with my husband's family in Sydney. One of my colleagues is going on safari to Africa and we won't see her again until February 🙂
Yea for you, Lindsay! I hope your break is wonderful! After I get all the preparations for Christmas complete, I plan to relax with our kids and enjoy. We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve–my honey, the kids and I, opening our presents to each other and from my hubby's family. On Christmas Day, we meet up with my family and spend the day together, talking, laughing, opening presents and enjoying being together. This year, my honey and I are taking a few days for ourselves while my kiddos stay with my parents.
Merry Christmas, Lindsay!
Yes, and I add milk chocolate chips!!
Have a wonderful break and a lovely Christmas!!!!
We're looking forward to having our college daughter here for three days. She wasn't scheduled to work at her Target store on the 23rd or 24th, and we're rejoicing.
I hope you enjoy your blogging break, Lindsay. I wish you a blessed celebration of Christmas.
