As you know, Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day.
My family had the fun tradition of pinching anyone who didn’t wear green on St. Patty’s Day. The fun part came when we’d try to wear just a little green that someone wouldn’t see–because if someone unjustly pinches you, you get to pinch him or her back twice.
Sneaky, right?
Your Turn: Do you wear green on St. Patrick’s Day? Do you have any fun St. Patrick’s Day traditions?
If I remember to. This time of year is a bit sad for my family (of origin) so St. Patty's Day kind of gets swept under the rug.
I like to wear green, so I try to make sure I do this. When I was a teacher, I especially made sure I was in green. 🙂 We don't have any great traditions, but I usually serve corned beef. Love it. 🙂
I very rarely remember St. Patty's day…which is weird because I love green. 🙂
Pinching? Well, sounds a little rough at your house. I'd NEVER pinch my sweet little darlings. I'll elbow check, shove or jersey them, but I could never condone pinching. Noooooo.
Yup, I'll be wearin' the green. I'm extremely Irish.
This weekend I'm looking for cute St. Patrick's Day socks I can buy to wear on Sunday. I'll try to refrain from the pinching though…ouch! 🙂
My grandma's birthday was St. Patrick's Day – and you guessed it, she was named Patricia (Patty for short)! She passed away when I was five, but last year on March 17th my sister had her first baby – Tucker. He'll be one in a couple of days. We don't have any fun traditions – but now we'll have another birthday to celebrate on St. Patty's Day each year.
My birthday is on St. Patty's Day, and wearing green has always been a fun part of my celebration. My mom always makes sure everyone in the whole family is outfitted with a lovely green top hat, too. We like to keep it classy. :0)
