Feeling small?
Worthless?
Abandoned?
Listen to this song (“Whom Shall I Fear? by Chris Tomlin).
The chorus gets me:
I know who goes before me,
I know who stands behind.
The God of angel armies,
Is always by my side.
Hear that? The GOD who leads legions of angels surrounds you, going before you, standing behind you, supporting you, loving you.
He’s by your side when you need a friend.
He lifts you up when you’re faltering.
He’ll carry you when you’re weak.
You are never alone. Never abandoned.
He is faithful.
Your Turn: What song blessed you this week?
I am listening (and re-listening) to a 2 CD collection of best-selling worship songs. One of my favorites: Revelation Song by Kari Jobe.
I love me some Kari Jobe. We just sang her "We Are" on Sunday. "We are the light of the world, we are the city on a hill, we are the light of the world, and we gotta, we gotta, we gotta let the light shine." Love!
Love that song! Oh goodness, I've barely listened to any music this week except for on the ultra short drive to and from work. The song on my way to work this morning: Que Sera Sera. 🙂 It's cute and fun if not crazily meaningful. Hehehe…
Hehe, that's awesome! And yeah, I'm listening to less music now that I don't have to drive as much for work!
I love that song! I've been listening to Kim Walker-Smith's new CD and I'm overwhelmed at The King is Here and He's Alive. Really the whole CD is flat-on-you-face good.
I haven't heard of her! Will have to check it out. Thanks for sharing, friend. 🙂
I love that song. Funny you should mention this, because I've been meditating on the truth that God is my hero. Last night I listened to one of my all-time favorite songs, one I hadn't listened to in a while. It's called You are My Stronghold by Watermark. I am not sure how many people know it, but here are the lyrics. As you can see, it's very similar.
YOU ARE MY STRONGHOLD
Lord You are my light and my salvation
Whom shall I fear if You are near
Lord You are my peace when there is war all around me
Even here inside me, I will have no fear
Oh Lord You’re my protection
From my enemies
You set me high upon a rock
And You defend my soul
When their ways advance against me
I am confident
That they cannot make me less
For You have made me whole
Oh Lord, You are my stronghold
You are my stronghold
Lord You are my strength
So let my head be lifted up
That I may glory in the ways
You’ve overcome
Lord You are my hope
‘Cause You’ve created in me
A heart that lives the victory
That You’ve already won!
Those words are awesome, and so scriptural. I love how God shows us similar themes in so many different areas of our lives and brings it all together in such beautiful harmony. 🙂
I love your worship Wednesdays, Lindsay. You and I … we love worship, friend. Kari Jobe's "Mystery" hit my radar last week and it's top on my playlist. It's pure, unadulterated worship from a heart surrendered to Him. Here's the link: http://youtu.be/eSY2_RhMxtI Hugs!
Listening right now. I love Kari Jobe! Thanks for sharing, friend.
Ahhhhhhhh. That soothed me down to my toes.
Thank you.
You're welcome. Gotta love a good worship song.
I don't know what my husband was listening to while he was working in the basement (remodel) this morning, but whatever it was, it touched my soul – I'll have to ask him later. The chorus spoke about God's incredible mercy – over and over again. I love being reminded of God's love, mercy, faithfulness and grace. Worship is amazing – I love that God created it to bring pleasure to us and Him. 🙂
Share it when you find out!
This song just blessed me. I needed this reminder. Thanks!
Lindsay,
Anything Jesus Culture. I love just listening to the words because umm, I can't carry a tune, but hey.. God said to make a joyful noise right?!
Blessings!
Alena T.
What a beautiful, encouraging song, Lindsay. I'm so glad you shared it. It's always a good thing to remember who our God is.
An older song that keeps floating through my head this week is "From the Inside Out." I love the lyrics and the message. I can't remember who it's by at the moment, but I love it.
