For some reason, the last few weeks have been really stressful. I’ve felt like I’m constantly behind, plus I’ve been contending with migraines that like to get me down and hot, muggy weather.
I just really wanna get away.
I know, I know. I just got back from the Caribbean like a month ago. Not even.
Still, right now, I’d love nothing more than to hole up in a cabin up north with my computer and a good book. I’d alternate between writing and reading. That would be so incredibly relaxing.
Well, a girl can dream, right?
Your Turn: If you could be anywhere right now, doing anything, where and what would it be?
I've had some weeks here and there in past months where I felt the same, Lindsay, for sure! If I could be anywhere right now, doing anything, I think I'd pick a seaside cottage and like you, I'd alternate between writing and reading…and probably some napping, too. 🙂
Napping? What's that? Sound heavenly. 🙂
I'll join you in that cabin, Lindsay! Especially if cool, crisp air is involved. 🙂
Have a great weekend!
Let's go, Sarah! Cool, crisp air is a MUST have.
Yes! A cabin up north…or a house on Atlantic beach listening to the waves crash. Ahhh.
Anything to escape the heat. Bleh.
Hope you feel better and get some rest this weekend.
Ooo, a beach house would be amazing.
I want to go that cabin and sleep! I was so into working on some writing things that the time flew by and it was midnight before I crawled into bed. The baby woke then and didn't sleep much after that. Poor little guy was teething so bad so I just held him and rubbed his back. I just love cuddling with him though because they're only little for so long 🙂 I'm so sorry to hear about your migraines 🙁 Rest easy and I pray you get some relief.
Oh, I'm sorry you didn't get much sleep, Joanne! And I've stayed up that late many times…but it's worth it. Right?
I'd be in London. I might even catch and Olympic event or two.
Wouldn't that be so much fun? I'll join you!
I was going to say I want to be in Venice, in a gondola, with my husband.
But if that isn't an option, I'll take Jennifer's option!
Why not do both, Beth? 😉 I hope to visit Venice next summer! Fingers crossed…
Oh, to get away. I've been looking at all these "tiny houses" on the news lately and dreaming, too.
I'm with you on this one, Lindsay. A cottage in the woods, on the beach, by the lake, doesn't matter. Just a retreat from the world for a while.
Yes, exactly! A retreat from the world and all its demands…
I'm so sorry that you've been struggling with migraines, Lindsay. Ugh! When hurt and stress piles in, it's only natural to want to get away. If I could be anywhere right this second, I'd simply be home. My home is my sanctuary and refuge from a world screaming demands. The quiet, still beauty that I enjoy at home (with my two kitty cats, of course!) rejuvinates me like nothing else. I just have to remember to turn everything off and allow myself to putter. 🙂
That's so awesome that your home is a retreat, Donna. I could make mine one if I left my computer and phone in the other room. That right there is the key, huh?
Cottage + ocean, or if I HAVE to, a lake. With my lost suitcase. That is chock full of stuff from Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Actually, a cabin near Flagstaff would be awesome. Then my friends who need cool, crisp air could all come visit.
I would gladly join you!!! I'm sorry you lost your suitcase. 🙁
I would be right back at Kohl's Ranch with my dear husband Kent. One more week would be fun. It was quiet. Reading spots by the open doors upstairs so you could also watch the thunderstorms. Or hike everywhere and anywhere. And the food was wonderful. Swimming. Jacuzzi. Sports of all kind if you so desire. And the country surrounding us was beautiful. And church in the forest on Sunday.
When Dad told me about that place, I started looking into going. That's what inspired this post, incidentally enough! But alas, we've neither the funds nor the time at this moment. I'll just live vicariously through you guys!
Can I have a do-over?
I want to be at a massage therapist's convention and be in the deep tissue massage all day marathon.
