If you read my blog post from Friday, you know that this last weekend I took a train to the Grand Canyon.
I thought it might be fun to share some pictures with you to tell you about our trip. As a writer, I love words, but sometimes, words alone are not enough (gasp, don’t quote me on that!).

At the Grand Canyon! |

What a beautiful thing it is to behold. Pictures don’t even do it justice. |

On top of the world |
 |
Kids, don’t try this at home! (Actually, you COULD try this at home. Don’t try this on a real cliff.) |
 |
My attempt at an artistic shot |
 |
Much-needed sustenance. And btw, the jacket is not because it was cold, but because I was getting sunburned. (Curse you, fair skin!) |
 |
Our train got “robbed” on the way home. Those little girls were so cute and loved it! |

Your Turn: What did you do this weekend?
Fun,fun, fun! Loved the pictures, Linds! Well, we had a packing party for a friend and my daughter had a piano recital. Yep, no Grand Canyon, but by the time ALL the kids pecked at that piano I was ready to throw them and it in the Grand Canyon! Ugh! LOL
Hahaha, that's awesome, Jess!!!
Um, I like that we have twin blog posts today – both weekend photo posts. 🙂 The train looks fun! I have the curse of the fair skin, too. I can commiserate. 🙂 Glad you had fun!!
Did people call you Casper growing up? Yet another way we are super alike. We're destined to be friends.
What a fun weekend! If you are a scrapbooker, you could have so much fun with that layout. Sounds like a cool adventure that could end up in a novel someday.

Ooo, good idea, Lisa! I'll jot it down in my ideas notebook!
Thanks for sharing! I love the train robbery. 🙂
It was a bit hoke-y but fun!
We've never gone on that train before! We'll have to try it soon. Sounds like such fun!!
It was fun. And they do that Polar Express thing in the winter that looks fun too!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time, Lindsay. I've seen the Grand Canyon twice, once as a very young child when I wasn't all that impressed and once when I was a suitably impressed adult. You're right. Pictures can't do it justice. It's raw beauty southwest style.
Me too, Keli! I hadn't been since I was 10. Totally didn't appreciate it like I did this time.
LOL, I've always wanted to take such a train ride. What fun!!
I hope you get to one day, Case!
Being a train robber as a job? That would be awesome! How do they interview you for that?
I don't know, but you would be perfect for it!! Haha.
How fun! Not sure I can top a train robbery …
I had time with my family, which is always the best.
The low point — but I lived through it — was locking my car keys in my car — while it was still running.
And, no, I didn't have a spare car key.
Sigh.
So glad you had good times with your family. Not glad you locked your keys in the car! 🙁
But hey, stuff like that is great fodder for a novel, right? Yet another predicament you can place on your characters!!
How fun!! My husband and I took a camping trip to the Grand Canyon several years ago… and arrived mid-blizzard. We still set up our tent, it stopped snowing as soon as the campsite was settled, and we walked from our site to the canyon. Can you imagine your first glimpse (ever) of the canyon being with a fresh coat of snow on everything? It was amazing.
That's amazing, Amanda! I've never seen it in the snow, but I bet it's grand. Pardon the pun. 😉
It was grand, and the pun makes it even better. 🙂
